When I was preparing my Gardening Talk on “The Way We Were…” I was shocked by the number of nurseries advertising in the old 1890 edition of the Gardeners Chronicle. The magazine was full of adverts from specialist nurseries. Some of these nurseries were renowned for the quality of their plants in their day. Yet…
It was wonderful to be invited back to Royston Gardening Cub in South Yorkshire for the third time yesterday. This small Club meets at Royston Methodist Church on a Wednesday afternoon. This time the talk was, The way we were. I think it can be said that a good time was had by all.
Well, actually the talk I was invited to give at the AGM of the Friends of Lincolnshire Museums was one of my most popular new gardening talks, “The Way We Were” which was made all the more special when the venue was the wonderful Normanby Hall with its Victorian Walled Garden
