…if you left your garden to nature for four years?
Well, I have. What an admission for a speaker at Gardening clubs and WIs to make!
Let me explain, I let my house out for 4 years and popped back to see how the garden was doing as I intend to move back into the house soon.
So here are some before and after images…
First the dining shed (its a long story and was a lot cheaper than a house extension!)
Then 4 years later
Next comes the decking, which is before and which is after?
Can you guess?
And now for the largest lawn weed in the history of man…
At 12 foot tall it shows just how fast some plants can grow…
Yes, that huge Elderberry is indeed a lawn weed!
Now for a few more shots of the lawn…
I think it needs a little bit of feed and weed!
But first things first.
The order of works…
- Fell lawn weed!
- Re-roof shed
- Paint shed
- Pressure wash deck
- Clear debris
- Prune shrubs
- Remove all green waste
- Returf lawn
- Stand back and admire work
The story of Doug’s Garden is told in the talk The 18 Year makeover, which is now being extended with a reclaiming the jungle section at the end.
