Shrubs and trees which have been planted recently are at risk of water stress due to the prolonged dry conditions and the heat.
I would always advise that they are watered in the evening at least once a week, so they don’t dry out at the roots.
To prevent the water running away from the plant ,its a good idea to create a a small earth wall to contain the water.
Don’t be a foliage wetter, the water wants to be directed at the roots, where it will do the most good.
