As a gardening speaker I am often asked to talk about wildlife, and have a talk, Snuffles and Tweets which covers the basics of creating havens for wildlife in the Garden.

However it is one thing being a speaker at a gardening club, and another to be part of a team creating a wildlife garden.

But that is exactly what we did this morning, with the help of 4 Seasons [Hull] who supplied some of the muscle,  Mires Beck Nursery, who supplied wildflowers and many listeners to The Great Outdoors on BBC Radio Humberside who came to help establish a community wildlife garden.

Here is the team, on completion of the task, ready for mugs of tea and bacon sandwiches!
